Michelle Ureña

Michelle Ureña has been performing in the Detroit area for nearly 20 years as a saxophonist, flutist, and clarinetist in a variety of styles including jazz, Latin, classical and popular music at popular venues and prestigious festivals including the Detroit Jazz Festival, Concert of Colors and Arts Beats and Eats.  She performs regularly with the Jazz and pop group RPM Trio, Brazilian jazz ensemble Canja De Boa and  Carribean jazz group Conjuntos Soltura.

She has been teaching and mentoring students of all ages and levels in performance since 2006 and teaches saxophone, music theory and piano at Macomb Community College.  She earned her Bachelor of Music. and Master of Music degrees from Wayne State University.
